G'day Soltan bit of a quandry here because do you think the tree(s) will survive the excavation? I am a lover of yamadori but not at the expense of (a) the health of the tree and (b) the impact to the environment. These are considerations you must weigh up prior to your actions. I am not a greeny tree hugger but I take life seriously and if the effort is not worth your time then go to a nursery and pick out the better species for your enjoyment.
Kindest regards Ash
