Eucalyptus to Collect

I have found some ripper gums to collect. This is about the only one that I got a picture off. It is on the side of a small cliff that is eroding away.
The main question I have is when to collect it. Any suggestions on how would also be appreciated.
If I was too trim the roots it may get washed away in the next big rain. If we ever get rain .
If I can work out how to collect these trees I may have hit the Eucalyptus jackpot.
Some have grown to rock and I think the only way to get them out would be with a cement type saw. I have never seen a root over rock Eucalyptus. I am liking the thought that these could be something great if I can work out how to get them out. There is also the possibility that any large amount of rain could put them under water.
I will consentrate on getting this one out first maybe and get some pics of the others.
I found them at the end of a day hike back were I first started .
I didn't get a chance to take more pics or much exploretry digging.
the good thing is they are only about a 20 minute drive away.
