I like your stone the way it is......but I can also see what you mean.
I really can't imagine grinding a stone down without having it look like a ground down stone......and I think that would destroy the stone completely.
It might be interesting to see if you COULD grind it, and give it a "natural" appearing surface.....and if it were natural apprearing, who would know the difference. I just don't think it can be done.
