Trunk Chopping for Improving Trees-Part II

This is a continueation of the first article on trunk chopping for gaining fat, powerful trunks for Shohin maples.

During the first part of the article, the repotting and carving of the tridents was done in winter. Now that spring is here, we can resume training. The tridents have recieved no special care up till this point. They have been allowed to grow freely. Upon inspection of the trunks, many things are apparent.

1. The wounds are already beginning to heal.
2. The apex of each tree actually began growing where I wanted it to.
3. The branching that I was hopeing for is doing great.

I have some pics of the three just the way they are now. The three will be part of a demo thursday in Hanford at a club meeting and the results of the demo will be added here later.

Some pics of the more important things going on. sorry, these photos will make more sense after Thursday!
