Repotting: Black olive (bucida spinosa)

This black olive from Schley's nursery; it was in a 7 gallon nursery pot, and we got ready to put it in a pot about 1/2 the size, and reduce the roots just a bit. But, when we removed it from the pot noticed that all except the superficial roots were fine roots, and we repotted it into a bonsai pot that we bought from Schley's that same day instead. This was done with minimum root reduction (no more than 10% off - leaving 90% ), and that is why we decided to be raised like this. Actually, I like the way it looks, and it was of course safer.

The darker zone on the soil is some kyoto moss spores with some soil mix that should come to green in a couple of weeks.

The tree is very healthy, with lots of new growth; only a branch died that my gf had broken while in the class. Really happy with the way this is turning out; as per our teacher's directions, there it still more work to do on it, but is should be less stress than any done so far.
