Don't apologize for disagreeing! I'm really glad to hear your thoughts on this tree. It gives me some sense of where I'm going right and where I'm going wrong in trying to understand why this one didn't do it for me.

With respect to the theory of landscape painting, is there a book or two that you'd recommend to a bonsai artist who knows little -to-nothing about art theory in general?
