The fused nebari (aka oil spill roots) are due to forcing the roots to grow horizintally, removing all roots that grow straight down. Requires tah if you grow on tiles that you get uniform rooting around the trunk, or add roots to bare spots. I believe most of those trees are from cuttings, some might also be from air layers. Requires work to start very early in the plants' life. John
