I have a few deshojo and found that they bud back like any other acer palmatum. They can tend to be heavy where cuts have been made but bud rubbing should alleviate this.

The main problem you get is finding one where the graft is not too unsightly.
Also be careful with any frost that can occur in Apri as the leaves can damage easily.

Will you be buying from a garden centre or a bonsai nursery ?
