I believe there is a type of aphid which is found in the soil, you need to look it up doody.
My research project to get rid of aphids went like this. I drove to the hardware shop, got a can of white oil and some garlic and pyrithrum spray, drove home and killed the aphids.
The packaging said 'kills aphids' and it actually did. I suggest this.
