james makes a valid point, i just noticed you are in texas. unless you get a blizzard, your tree should be alright outdoors all year. in case of some extreme cold spells (which i expierienced while in texas) you will want to bury the pot in a mulching agent - mulch, leaves, etc. to protect the roots and the pot.
