Hi Jerry, Here's the best description of The hills fig I can find. My next visit will be to a few botanist friends at Sydney Uni to help me id these trees a little better
Ficus microcarpa var. hillii (F.M.Bailey) Corner
Ficus hillii F.M.Bailey
Ficus schlechteri Warb.
Excluded from F. microcarpa by Berg & Corner (2005) and considered "almost certainly distinct at the species level" but not formally described as such. Pers. comm. from Dale Dixon (Aug. 2005): " I have[seen] the type and am of the opinion that it is not different from Ficus microcarpa, it actually matches Berg's concept of Ficus microcarpa very well. The Ficus microcarpa var. hillii that is commonly sold in the horticultural industry is almost certainly a selected cultivar of Ficus microcarpa L.f. ... I am certain that for the Australian material we only have one taxon."
Here's a few other ficus trees I have on my shoppingt list I will post a new thread for them...big list...Some may interest you Jerry!
