I, too, have ventured to ebay for some prebonsai stock. I say prebonsai, because you can find a good trunk and nebari with no branch work much cheaper than a "finished tree".

I have been disappointed by 'pelvicpunisher' - I received one tree bare root - or I should say - "without roots" - it was literally just a stump!!

However, I agree that 'lominatii' has some nice thick-trunked prebonsai for a reasonable price - shipping can take up to 2 months and you have to hound him about shipping dates

Two others that had great prebonsai's were 'lizzyizzy' and 'matsumomiji' - easy and quick transactions.

Finally, there are few guys who do 'dutch auctions' - that is more than one product in the same auction and I found that's a good way to get seedlings/whips cheaply - good forest material or trees for root grafting etc.

good luck,
peace, Steve
