Your right the odd cigarette butt does make the glaze individual. Thats the beauty of Ash glazes.

I will try the adding a bit of another glaze to the Ash Glaze and see what it comes out like. Oh and the crackle, it is coloured after the final firing, just good old indian ink, slap it on then wash it off when it has soaked into the cracks. I have also used other coluur inks to get a different colour crackle, blue looks pretty cool.
