Hay Doody that idea about the chat room is a very good idea. Or maybe when someone enters the chat room a pop up could come up and say "John Doe has entered the chat room".
I too have the same problem, sometimes I just feel like chatting instead of browsing posts.
I think it would be nice to allow everyone a chance to chat.
Another problem is that if you have a slow connection as I do, & you have the chat box open you can barely browse the board because when the board updates it desrupts your browsing.

Invitation to thread, Not so good idea:
I think that the right to browse threads free willingly is to each his own. I think that might actually pressure someone into joining a thread discussion when they are already involved in one. That is what the chat room is there for.
But thats just my oponion, I personally wouldn't mind seeing a popup to join a thread discussion.


You know I've been wanting to post a thread entitled "where is all the chatters" but never got around to it.

The only way someone sees that anyone else is in a chatroom is if they are on the main board.

Maybe putting that "so & so is in the chat room" thing at the top of every thread would help, instead of just on the front page.

Ok I am going off.
