Paul is right, you can have help as long as you credit the person who helped you. I've been considering exactly what an "editor" might mean, and what is in the spirit of the competition.
The actual writing must be done by the person or persons who are members of the forum. You can have help with spelling, grammar, etc. if you wish, and advice on how to make the article better, so if that's what you mean by an "editor" that's fine. For instance, if your spouse or parent is willing to help you with the article structure so that it flows better, or a teacher at school gives you tips, that's quite all right. If two forum members are writing it together, they can help each other of course.
The spirit of the competiton is to showcase the diverse and interesting talents that we have here. Everything from how-to articles, to interviews and bios, to opinions, humorous or inspirational articles, all of this is acceptable. Have fun, enjoy doing the article, try to learn a little something yourself on the way... stretch yourself to go just a little farther in your journey... not only will you grow as a bonsai artist, but you will enrich all of us.
