I think it came out pretty well - a lot better than I expected after reading your initial post! And I wouldn't be surprised if those trees don't fuse quite quickly despite the occasional gaps.

Admittedly, I don't undestand why anyone would want the finished product, assuming that it works - but I completely understand the fun of trying something like this! Thanks for the visual tour. And let us know how it comes along.
