Hi Jas,
It doesn't sound good. How long has it been since you've been back?

Try soaking it in water for 1 hour. When the soil completely dries, it needs soaking to get moisture back into the root ball. Top watering probably won't do it.

If it'd been a few weeks and a juniper is looking dry and crispy and the foliage falls off when you touch it, well, that's it!

Please don't feel too bad. This kind of thing happens. Bonsai should never be allowed to dry out. Juniper is tougher than most plants, but it isn't quite a cactus.
