I actually planned on doing this on a smaller scale. I'm going to be circulating an e-mail soon to all my friends regarding springtime landscape work (they're a lot more forgiving if you end up having to bail on them). If that turns out ok, I may consider working with a neighborhood association in the future. Basically I'm kinda working my way up to serious urban collecting.

Newspaper ads, I would worry, would lump you in with countless individual landscape freelancers, and it'd be a little bit harder to pick and choose your projects. However, if your pretty serious about it and have the time to devote, it can't hurt.
