Too Late To Propagate?

I have a J.maple, Jaqueline hillier elm, a crabapple, some azaleas, a boxwood, and some other trees in my lanscape. I want to propagate every thing by cuttings or air layering.

Is It too late in the year? I wont die if I have to wait till next year, But I really want to give air layering a shot, and I'm bored. Can weeping cherry trees be propagated from layering or just grafts? I also have two magnolia trees in my yard that I want to propagate, but can the leaves be reduced enough for bonsai?

Either way, I would like to propagate it.

Thanks for any help!
