It's not really a bad tree.It is immature,but Arnie did a great virtual and in a few years the foliage pads can improve.The bark can improve.Unfortunately,the trunk's basic structure won't improve much(or at least it will take much longer)As it is now,I think it's rather thin and has little taper.

I agree. This is not a bad tree and should not be auctioned so quickly. It has many possibilities, alone or in a group. At the least, it is an educational experience for those who still acquire bonsai the old fashioned way, by creating them.
Nothing against collectors, gotta love them, but when you buy your stock 99% styled, you sometimes lose the joy that comes from creating something from nothing. I personally love taking a tree from an auction that someone has giving up on and finding the bonsai within it.
I have said this before but I think it is well suited here, "Trees don't make bad bonsai, people make bad bonsai."
