Good morning Boys an Girls
First off, I wanna thank you all again for yer replies, comments and help in my first 2 posts. Ya all know how to welcome a person. In the last 2 weeks, I went a bit mad. As well as the 4 Chinese Elms I had, I know have 2 Carmona Macrophyll, 4 Juniper, 1 Ficus Retusa and 1 Serissa. I bought a book (the Bonsai pocket encyclopedia). This is really helpfull with identifying the plants, being as the shops I got them from didnt have a clue.
The Junipers are just wee Dwarf trees. I read that you wire an train conifer's at this time of year, so I messed about with them a bit, then put them out doors. Everything else is in our bedroom, so me Girlfriend says it looks like a jungle, and i'm not allowed any more. So, tomorrow, I go in search of ma first Acer. Hopefully a Deshojo, cause I think they are beautiful. I am concerned about buying such a tree, and leaving it out to the elements, cats and kids. Think i'll have to build some kinda wee shelter for ma outdoor collection.
I know its the wrong time of year to re-pot, but I had to do the Ficus and one of the Carmona. They were completely pot bound, and saturated. And the Ficus had a white cobweb like mould growing out the drain hole. I had them both a week, and hadn't watered them once, but the soil was still wet. The Ficus lost a few leaves the next few days, but since then, they are both growing new leaves, and the Carmona is still blooming wee flowers.
Question:... Is it unusual for the tree's to still be growing at this time of year? Every one of my indoor tree's are sproutin new leaves, some more than others. Saying that,.. I have fed them all bout 2 weeks ago. Got some liquid feed that you give them once a month during the Fall an Winter.
