Although I have attended conventions I haven't participated in the workshops except once as an assistant for John Thompson a few years ago.
I did see that most of the workshop participants had a hand cart of some type to transport the larger trees and their tools & supplies. They were running all over with them in the elevators and corridors. It's probably something you can borrow if you have the need, but they are kind of ubiquitous at those conventions.
There's a pretty fair amount of pin swapping that goes on at these things, so it's an opportunity to take a dozen of your club's pins and come back with some unique ones. There are some serious collectors out there. Joanie if you see anything that looks interesting (colorful + inexpensive) for the auctions, maybe we could get some of those going. I really thing the auction site would lend itself to pin trading, and there's a category all set up for it. They're small, light and mail inexpensively and safely.
Joanie, I'll stake you $50 for the pin project if you have the interest to jump start this with the purchase of some interesting collectible pins.
Many thanks,
Matt
