I too have collected moss from various places.
St a few small, quarter size pieces around in my plants. Frequent misting does help, but I also have trays with aquraium gravel in them, then add water to just below the surface of the gravel. the moss and the tree too, love the humidity. Works for me.
Just remember to check the water level every day!
