Did you learn to run before you could walk? Did you walk before you could crawl?

It's a natural order of things. You learn the basics - first. Rules of bonsai design is a misnomer. There isn't some awful punishment awaiting those who choose a different path (except you may get ridiculed for making unwise decisions).

I have to choose "never" for the time to break the rules. It's not that you can't as much as it is there is no set time. It might happen the first day or you may never do it. It is not on a timetable.
