Juniper roots/repotting a layer

howdy

I was asked the other day what colour juniper roots are. i repotted one today and took some pics along the way. I didnt get a b4 photo as i wasnt planning on repotting it but i took off so much foliage that i thought id better!! no time like the present and all.

This juniper was a layer and i have the bottom section as well. The roots didnt form the whole way around the trunk and so there is a gap (the back!). this juniper took almost 12 months to layer and has been seperated for a few years growing in a styrafoam box.

...and b4 anyone goes on about the gloves im wearing (ha ha) i prefer not to get dirt under my fingernails if i can help it!!! and it keeps my hands warm (awwww)....

For some reason known NOT to me!!! i left the spag moss on the layer when i potted it. I never do that, maybe since it took so long to take root i was worried about breaking them, i dont know. Anyway it was painful to get the mossout.

So here goes
