catlin elm airlayering results
This is an example of what I was talking about. As you can see with this catlin elm I have cut the crown several times to make it bush up and fill in. When I felt that the shank of the limb had acheaved the size that I wanted I set up the airlayer. This cutting technique also has another advantage in that there are many limbs growing and pushing roots so this will make your airlayer more succesful.
