Now when it is your thread, you want to make up a whole new set of rules.
I know, I know it's not the same thing. I've heard it a million times.

Yet, you still compare apples to oranges.
The thread you are talking about was a display of yours that you posted on a public forum where you got upset because some of us actually critiqued it. It in fact, had everything to do with the thread. As I said there, if you just want to admire your trees or displays without suggestions and/or comments, printing a picture and hanging it on your wall is the best way to go.
I really don't understand the animosity with these "All there is to know" threads. People have always given links to people who are searching for answers, this way we can give many links at once with a simple click. I feel these resources are valuable and worthy of the effort it took to compile them. In fact, they really are no different than the bookmarks we all have in our browsers, just easier to share.
My comment about keeping these threads clean had the sole purpose of saving people who will use them from having to sort through pages of drivel and other unrelated nonsense to find the links contained here. This is why the discussion thread for these links was created. On the other hand, when viewing posts of trees or display, critiques are to be expected and I feel they actually add to the thread as we can see how others feel about the display or bonsai presented.

Although the forum here is intensive and the best on the web, many of the links in the "All there is to know" threads come from elsewhere. This is one of the many advantages of these threads, they encompass many forms, many sites.
