I've set up a system to allow new Sellers to self-authorize using PayPal
I'll still be able to do manual authorizations for folks with positive feedback, but if you want to get set up to sell immediately and you haven't established any feedback, the PayPal option is a good one.
One-time authorization is just $0.99 (ninety nine cents). It's good as long as you own the username, and you will get an instant $5.00 selling credit, which is not a bad deal.
Full details are here. If you aren't already preauthorized, you'll get be prompted to do so prior to listing items.
Existing sellers don't need to authorize themselves.
Buyers don't need to authorize themselves, but may choose to do so at any time. Sellers have the option to restrict auctions to preauthorized individuals.
Q: What's the purpose of authorizing? It proves that you are an individual with an established identity, so bidders can be confident that you'll follow through with the items they purchase.
Q: When do I need to authorize? You can self-authorize any time prior to listing. Just click on the SELL link in the title bar at
http://www.bonsaiauctions.com and you will be directed to the paypal gateway to make a ninety-nine cent payment.
Q: What if I don't have Paypal? You can also choose manual authorization if you have positive feedback as a buyer.
