The squirrel dilemma has struck me also....seems they think burying acorns in pots is easier than in the hard ground. Now, pot covers might just work, but with 100+ pots, I don't like squirrels that much
I have 2 dogs that love chasing the squirrels, (as Al will attest), but they are indoor dogs during the day. So I have stooped to the pellet gun. ( I know, I know, nature has it's place, just not with an 80 dollar tree completely dug up). I got the kind of gun that pumps, and have found that a couple pumps delivers a noticeable sting to the little suckers. Not killing, just deterring....never knew squirrels could go so vertical. Anyhow, after a few rump shots, haven't seen a squirrel since. Just a thought.
