I have a Chinese Elm bonzai and from time to time it will lose it's leaves and then they all grown back greener and fuller. I live in Los Angeles and it is often too hot to eep it outside, so it generally lives inside. I have had it for a year. I went away for a couple of weeks and gave my tree to a friend to look after and now it has no leaves and they are not growing back or even budding. I have given it bonzai food, plenty of sun and water. Any suggestions?
