As a followup to my previous comments, if the tree were angled up toward the right more (re: my previous observation about the tree's angle), the 3 elements in the composition would be able to be more appropriately positioned: tree closer to the scroll and companion figurine farther away from the scroll.

Remember that the smaller element in the display should almost always be positioned farther away from the central element (the scroll). Hope this helps. As a reference, Carl Bergstrom has written an excellent article on the Art of Bonsai site about this idea - "The Principle of the Steelyard."
