Oh, and if you google for "pest ficus" you will find a lot of information on what bugs they might be and how to treat them. Looks like a simple recipe of household products and water dilution sprayed on regularly until they are gone is the best bet. Generally it sounds like it isn't an emergency, they are just unsightly.

Try searching that, and see if any of the bugs sound right. Mild soapy treatments are probably best to start with. Sounds like ficus will sometimes lose their leaves if treated, and if that happens, slow down on the watering and wait for the tree to bud out again.

Can anyone else help here?
