While that can be disturbing to a newbie, red-tinged growth on a ficus is a sure sign of vibrant health. You are doing everything right if you see this.
I believe that the reason has to do with leaf-growth outpacing chlorophyl production, but I could be wrong. Either way, it's a good good thing.
