Hi, Wendy!
I think someone took pix, but I didn't.
The workshop was very nice, with a few new faces in the crowd. The trees were very good quality for the price. I managed to restrain myself and NOT bring home another tree (although I snagged some nerifolia cuttings).
There was a brief presentation my Mark about the ficus genus and a few examples, including Merida's really really nice nerifolia. I brought in my frankensai to share, and gave away a couple trees that are not the quality I'm aiming for. Then everyone dug in, clearing soil and trimming and wiring into pots and having a good time. More experienced members wandered around to help those with a bit less. I spent most of the time working with one guy, John, I think, and his tree turned out to be a very good start I think.
Next meeting = Picnic at the Park of Roses!
Noon, 9/25.
Bring trees to share, giveaways, food, beverages, and your sense of excitement.
