I disagree. It's a matter of time perception. We humans feel suicide is instantaneous, but trees don't usually do things as fast as us.
I am sure I have a wisteria that needs psychiatric help. It is in a pot for a semi-cascade style. It slowly, but surely, keeps growing so much foliage that it eventually gets top-heavy ands ends up falling off the bench. Thank goodness for the toughness of Sara Rayner pots!!! It's a "jumper".
In an effort to save it's life, I continuously cut it back, but it stubbornly continues to re-flush and grow with reckless abondon. I think it has a nitrogen addiction!!!!
