G'day Dave, looks to me your tridents are telling you spring is here. Being in Canberra it tends to be a bit colder but i would say go ahead and do the whole root prune and pot thing but shelter the trees from potential frost taking no risks. My tridents are still dormant but the cherry plums are flowering and the leaves are ready to burst. I have been known to clip early leaves to follow the spring timing to suit what i want but you should be pretty safe going with what the trees want. Regards Ash
