I like the juniper very much and don't think it would benefit from an angle change. However, the jin from the old top doesn't look dmaged enough, to me anyway, to tell the story convincingly, of how the top died, maybe by lighening strike. I might also like to make to foliage on the left side shorter to give it a bit more movement. Good job. Keep us posted on its progress.

PS The pot seems to work bur may be a bit "feminine" even with the nails, for the "masculine" look of the tree.
