Out of Print bonsai books

Hello,

What's the real deal about the out of print, rare, hard to find bonsai books that sell for such high prices? The book by Peter Adams, Bonsai Design:Japanese Maple for example. Do people pay so much for this book for the content or because it's a collectible and out of print? A whole book about Japanese Maple sounds great to me, but does this book really shed a lot of light on the subject? Are there other species specific books like this that are still in print? I'd rather buy a bunch of books each having a lot of information about a particular species than a few books with a little information about a lot of different trees.

Anybody have any suggestions on a good book about deciduous bonsai?

Thanks to all,
