Man earthgirl, you have hit the nail smack on the head with the beadwork thing.
In the beginning... I made bonsai stands. I made alot. I never payed much attention to the bottom of the stand. I mean in the way of finish, sanding to very fine detail, that sort of thing.
I began to notice that every time I brought a group to a club meeting for sale, the first thing that someone would do is not scrutinize the top, but turn it over and look the bottom over. I have never thought about why there is so much fascination with the botom of a stand. I guess people want to know the same thing, if I am willing to spend some time on a portion no one will ever see, I must take pride in my work.
I make my bottoms a whole lot better now.
BTW, I need more input on this cheerleader thing? This is pretty exciting!
