It's perfectly valid, and
may actually be better for them. If it has worked well for you, continue to use it. You can be more comfortable if you find that the temp has dropped below 50F.
Ron: How about your other tropicals? Do you use the same rule, or are you a little gentler to your buttonwoods and bucida spinosas?
