Both the olive and the sageretia should be repotted when it is already pretty warm outside. It is a mistake to repot them in March, especially in your zone.

I repotted both my olives and sageretia in April, and I live in California. For you, that would be equivalent with late May. You can only start thinking about repotting an olive when you see the new leaves coming out. The roots of the olive regenerate during the hottest part of the season, which is late June, July and August. If you rootprune it early, the injured roots cannot regenerate and the tree can die.
