Very interesting.

Having had an interest and practical involvement in growing and nurturing all sort of plants from an early age, it has never occured to me that there are obviously people who have no grounding in horticulture of any kind.

I will certainly bear this in mind when the word beginner comes up in a thread and request a litle more background info.

Walt's definitions seems a good starting point.
