Hi,
Have had Californa Junipers in the nursery in the past, love the aura (too many John Naka images, perhaps?), for several years. The deadwood on the Rocky Mountain (or even some of the other species) is comparable, and the foliage is certainly better than on California. Plus, you don't have the constant battle to keep em relatively happy. Just a thought.
